Overall Job description for on-water roles
Aquasail has a range of innovative and customized products for the Indian market as well as courses and training based products benchmarked to the worlds best. The Aquasail Yachting Academy has done created a strong reputation for itself. The Academy offers cruising courses, keel boat, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, power-boating, multi hull and other courses for individuals and families.
In addition Aquasail conducts high powered corporate regattas and events. Aquasail also conducts very powerful team building and team reward programs.
The on water team will be involved in various aspects of each of these both on the water and supporting the organization of the program to ensure high levels of overall satisfaction.
Requirements for the Role:
Jobs for all instructors and on water related roles require the relevant certification from recognized bodies like the RYA. In addition to these the following would be relevant and treated as value addition

Job Profile:
To introduce people to leisure boating, to instruct as per course design, and to skipper the fleet of Aquasail boats as required for various programs. These include keel boat, dinghy courses, windsurfing courses, cruising courses etc. Instructors must be adaptable and impart skills with confidence and enjoy teaching first timers. They should be able to conduct the relevant course independently, as well as work in a team. They will provide relevant inputs for course re design change and ensure that all documentation etc is adhered to.
All instructors will be an integral part of all on-water activities like the Splash and Sailience programmes, events, and regattas. Hence they are required to be flexible and adaptable to diverse sailing activities.
Qualification and Experience
- Relevant RYA certification or equivalent certification for any of the above mentioned courses
- Minimum 3 years experience in teaching / instructing
- Experience in water sports center or sailing school or a holiday company
- Good knowledge of basic boat maintenance and other related aspects

Aquasail Water Sports Center Manager
Location: Mumbai and other location in India
Job Profile
Aquasail has set up the first and currently only sailing center in India with world class boats and equipment ranging from beach dinghies and catamarans to Kayaks, windsurfers and keel boats. The center is equipped for day use for groups of 100 plus people. Customers include adults and children, individuals and families and corporate groups.
The Water Sports Center Manager would need to handle all on and off water requirements. He/ she would need to ensure that the center is managed and maintained and ready for use for the various programs and courses. In addition to instructing as per qualification he/ she will oversee the operations at the Center in line with business bookings. This will entail
- Ensuring boats and equipment are in good condition and ready for use
- Systems for preventive maintenance
- Overseeing rescue and safety
- Scheduling and allocation of instructors
- Overall program management
- Depending on experience and skills could handle larger responsibilities

Yacht Master Instructor
Location: Mumbai
Job profile
Aquasail has as part of its fleet Beneteau sailing yachts which it uses for conducting cruising courses. It also uses these boats for other products (regattas, corporate events etc).
The Yacht Master Instructor will be expected to design and implement and over see the courses. Ensuring the yachts are maintained and ensuring documentation and systems are in place is also a key part of the role.
Training instructors will be a core part of the role.
Depending on the experience and skills the incumbent would play a key role in team management and overall operations. He /she would be a part of the core team.
Qualification and experience
- RYA certified Yacht Master Instructor
- At least 5 – 7 years experience in a relevant organization
- Team and leadership track record – handle and manage a team
- Ability to design and implement courses
- Strong customer interface skills
- Strong operations and systems
Off water roles
Aquasail seeks functional and professional expertise and skills in various areas as part of its strategy and vision to create a dynamic and professional organization. The key roles include business development and marketing for the different business verticals and sales and marketing support roles. PR and Media relations are a core function as is web and inline management. Aquasail thus has openings for those who are result and sales oriented and those who can contribute to marketing and marketing support (conventional and online) in proactive and creative way.

Operations and Events Manager

Job Profile:
The operations manager will co ordinate and work with the sales and marketing and the on water team to Co ordinate the execution of all programs. Vendor negotiation and empanelment, operation efficiency, cost effectiveness will be some of the deliverables. Aquasail conducts different types of programs and events and the operations and events manager will have to take the lead to ensure smooth execution. He/ she should be a team leader, with the ability to work across functions. Resourcefulness and efficiency are key requirements. The candidate should be able to leverage experience and combine it with creativity to lead a team to success.

Business Development and Marketing Manager

Job Profile:
Develop business and generate revenues and meet customer acquisition objectives for the specified business stream. In addition contribute as a team member to overall business development. Create brand and product awareness.

Coordinate media and PR activities for Aquasail.
This is a core marketing function and critical to the company’s brand image building and business development. The manager needs to be able to tie up partnerships with media, ensure visibility and awareness, and build strong relations with relevant media.
Networking skills, good media relations and strong communication are important.

Accounts, Logistics and Purchase Manager

Manage the accounting, purchase and logistics needs of the organisation. The manager should be able to create and implement systems and monitor these. Should be able to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery. Understanding of the shipping, customs and import-export areas would be an added advantage.

Part time skippers
Location: Mumbai
Job Profile:
We require skilled sailors who would be willing to devote time outside their regular working schedule. We could work out options that would suit your schedules, like weekend sailing and/or part time on weekdays. Commitments could vary from person to person.
Sailors would require to contribute as instructors for the Learn to Sail programme or as skippers for events like Splash, or even be a beach master.
All skippers will go through Aquasail on water training program conducted by Shakeel
Aquasail has been fortunate to work with great sailors who are currently well placed and handling successful and high powered roles in the corporate sector and in business. Job Profile:
Volunteers to join the Aquasail team to support various functions in different roles on a part-time basis. All roles will provide opportunities to learn as well as to contribute. People will be selected for one of the specific roles mentioned below.
Everyone in the team participates during programs and events, and each one would be required to play a role beyond the specific skills they have been selected for. This is to ensure that a program / event is completed smoothly and successfully.
Candidates will get a chance to see how an event is conceptualised, planned and executed. They will also get a fantastic opportunity to interact with people in the corporate and business sector as well as successful people from different walks of life.
Roles
- Marketing support: working with the marketing team on creation of advertising and marketing materials and collaterals
- Content development: you will help with content development, web research, and information and data mining. You should be familiar with the internet, and good at written and oral communication
- Office administration and documentation support
- Media and PR: you will support the media team to coordinate media efforts and plans. You will help to create media proposals, press releases, sales, coordination of media interactions and follow ups
- Event management: you will help in all aspects of planning and execution of events and programs including sourcing, planning, idea generation and on-the-ground operations
- Business development: support the marketing and sales teams in generation of leads, creating business strategy and helping to reach out to different audiences. Work would include making presentations, attending meetings, follow ups, writing proposals and coordinating with the client once the transaction is closed
