About Aquasail


Aquasail’s vision is to promote the growth of a vibrant and healthy leisure boating industry in India. We wish to achieve this by providing the right kind of products and solutions to make leisure-boating an accessible activity, in a safe and responsible manner.

Aquasail has invested in a range of relevant boats, equipment, locations and in people and a highly qualified team and has designed products and solutions to ensure that we are able to provide a world class sailing and leisure boating experience.

Aquasail sells boats (Distribution Business) and also leverages the strong core competencies it has developed for training and leisure products for both the retail and the corporate customer.

1. Business Vertical: Corporate Sales / MICE

 

Product: Networking events, Training and Leadership Programs, Corporate Charters and Memberships,

Responsibilities/Key Responsibility Areas

  • Revenue Generation : Sell to and build relationships with senior management including CHROs, Business Heads and MDs and senior leaders to meet business targets
  • Be proactive and resourceful as you conceptualize and customize the offering based on customer needs. Create products customized to client needs and especially focus on repeat and structured products. Thus, the ability to negotiate and understand the product thoroughly is an important aspect of the job
  • Manage the data base and customer information and ensure relationships are well leveraged and nurtured
  • Create awareness and reach through innovative methods like PR, association tie ups and other means


Desired Candidate Profile

  • 3 – 8 years of experience of Corporate Sales experience in Events/Travel/Media/Hospitality / FMCG/ Banking organization. Those with MICE experience and with experience in selling training programs, conferences etc will have added advantage. Those with strong corporate sales or relationship / concept sales should also apply
  • MBA degree holder from a reputed institute

2. Business Vertical: Retail / F.I.T/ Aquasail Yachting Academy

Responsibilities/Key Responsibility Areas

  • Sell to HNIs and exceptionally discerning individuals and build a strong and perpetual customer base
  • Achieve the retail revenue targets set - by leveraging the past customer base, creating new leads, upselling and building a strong reach and awareness
  • Build a strong retail customer base and implement strategies to upsell and maintain and ensure future growth through repeat and longer term purchase. Persistent follow up of leads
  • Customer satisfaction - maintain standards of product delivery and ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction
  • Create awareness and reach both through means like online marketing, social web marketing, media relations and also through tie ups and partnerships with relevant partners and channels

  • In depth Knowledge of the travel trade, who are key players, how it works, what are the commission structures and incentives etc. are critical for success of this job.

4. Business Vertical: Sailing Holidays Global, Outbound and Domestic

Responsibilities / key Result Areas

  • Create and design outbound sailing holidays packages for our global sailing destinations
  • Create and design and sell domestic sailing holiday packages and experiences for our domestic destinations
  • Create the sales and marketing strategies and implement the same to meet revenue targets which will be achieved through direct as well as through channel partners 
  • Set up partnerships and tie ups for marketing and sales and ensure that product collaterals and other requirements are provided 
  • You will play a senior management role as we develop product and pricing strategy, marketing and channel strategies for this business
  • In addition, depending on your skills, experience and capabilities you will play a key role in liasoning with the strategic partners as well as help set up online and offline systems and frameworks relevant to the business


Desired Candidate Profile

  • 5 – 10 years in the travel industry with in depth and hands on experience of outbound and domestic with a focus on outbound.
  • A deep understanding of the travel industry, product design and a result and sales oriented approach are key

Responsibilities/Key Responsibility Areas

  • To generate revenue through creation and sale of sponsored properties and events as also overall Aquasail experiences building on current properties and taking them to the next level and also building new properties with a focus on making these annual and perpetual
  • To build relationships and barter partnerships with media and other relevant partners both for creation participation and success of the event on the ground, adding to the visibility of the event as also for generating sponsorship and event opportunities
  • To create partners to co build and sell events and manage these partnerships
  • To negotiate and tie up longer term contracts for these properties so as to create future revenue streams including ensuring that IPR of Aquasail is maximized and protected

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Sales in Events/Media or Sports Management industry
  • Graduate in BCA,BMM,BMS, B.Com or B.A. MBA / Diploma in marketing and hospitality will be given a preference 
  • Should have conceptualized and executed large and small sponsored events and have a deep understanding of sponsor needs, obligations, sponsor expectation management and also media management and partnerships and participation creation

6. Function: Finance

  • To prepare accurate and timely monthly management. Timely preparation of the forecasts and annual budgets
  • Reporting and business needs and assist the management in the implementation of developments
  • Leading ad-hoc accounting projects to ensure effective internal controls are in place
  • Responsible for full set of accounting and finance including Cash Management, Budgeting/Variance Analysis / Cost Control, Cost Accounting, Inter-company transactions, Consolidation, Financial and Management Reporting
  • Implements / reviews internal controls to ensure effective & efficient operations

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in handling various aspects of Finance

7. Function: Operations & Sales Support

 

Level: Mid – Mid Senior
Reporting to: Director

Responsibilities/Key Responsibilities Area

  • Ensuring the operations of events and programs and other related activities are smoothly and efficiently handled
  • Vendor management - ensuring best costs, best practices, high quality are maintained - Liasoning with the advertising agencies, printers and other such partners to ensure marketing collaterals etc. are delivered on time, efficiently and of the correct quality
  • Will be responsible for setting up and sourcing for the shop and gift items and other key areas
  • Should be able to take initiatives and be an active part of all the events that happen. . Should be creative enough to organize events, display, and décor for an event.
  • This person could also contribute to content or to customer support and data management. Should have the skills sets to straddle both.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 2 – 6 years of experience in handling operations
  • Any Graduate – BCA, BMM, BMS etc.
  • Someone who brings best practices, processes , able to use technologies like 365 and CRM and check lists on which we have invested will be given preference

8. Function: Accounts

 

Level: Junior - Mid
Reporting to: Director

Responsibilities/Key Responsibility Areas

  • Preparation of MIS Reports - PNL / Balance Sheet / completing and sending the monthly financial packs etc.
  • Control Bank & Cash Balance for effective rollover. Handle Debtors & Creditor payments & follow ups on the same
  • Maintain proper entry into Tally/Busy Accounting Software
  • Prepare Invoices, Statements (Ageging, Sales Purchase, Bank Records etc), Expense reports etc.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 1 – 4 years of experience in handling various aspects of Accounts preferably in an Export/Import company
  • Graduate in B.Com or M.Com

9. Function: Web Marketing/Content

  • Support the team on all content related matters
  • Responsible for conducting research, writing and editing press materials like news releases, pitches, blogs, and presentations
  • Actively build Aquasail as a brand through social and online marketing - generating leads and building communities through relevant content

  • Write, publish and update various content and report events first hand on different platforms like the company website, Facebook, Twitter, BlogSpot etc.

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in Web Marketing/Content /Marketing in a reputed organization

  • Build awareness for Aquasail through active and responsive PR and media management
  • Tie ups for promotional activities with different Media agencies
  • Domain strength in PR and Media relations that can be leveraged by the sales team for various events
  • Promote and sell the product concept to journalists in major national, metropolitan daily, local, and specialist media outlets
  • Contribute to creative brainstorms
  • Assist with client management
  • Develop strong relationships with the media and clients
  • Drive & actively manage media relations & corporate communications for the company

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in PR/Media /Marketing in a PR, Media, Events or a Digital Marketing Company
  • Any Graduate. People with a degree in Journalism, Mass Com, BMM, BMS will be given a preference
  • Basic knowledge of online marketing and should be able to learn quickly and contribute in this area
  • Media relations and PR -should know how PR works, press releases, management of shoots and interviews, creating structured awareness

  • Effectively managing appointments for the Directors. Keeping track of scheduled activities and maintaining the calendars

  • Coordinating to ensure logistics like accommodation, visas, travel. Document Management of Director's office including tracking, getting signatures on documents, vouchers, bills etc.

13. Function: Watersport and Yacht Instructors

 

Level: Junior - Mid

Responsibilities/Key Responsibility Areas

As an integral part of the on water team you will work across and get an opportunity to be involved in all of Aquasail on water businesses in accordance with your certification and skill.
  • conduct and execute courses for the Academy
  • instruct and race with clients during regattas
  • sail and instruct during team building programs
  • be an integral part of beach and habrour sailing programs

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Instructors: sailing, dinghy sailing, kite surfing, windsurfing, power-boating, wakeboarding
  • Minimum 2 years of instruction and at least 5 years plus experience
  • Additional certification in areas like personal watercraft, life guard competency, kayaking, cruising will be an added advantage
  • Multi certification and endorsements will be given preference
  • RYA or equivalent certification is a must
  • Racing skills and experience are an clear advantage
  • First Aid and safety boat certification are a must
  • Experience in Sailing schools, Holiday Companies, Sailing events or Water sports center are preferable
  • Good communication skills both spoken and written : English, hence strong inter and intrapersonal skills in the language are mandatory
  • Should be results focused and target driven
  • Preference will be given to those with a strong educational background
  • Experience of organizational and management skills such as activity administration, scheduling, maintenance logs, handling of clients and group supervision will be an advantage. In addition to sailing and instructing you will get exposure and be expected to contribute to program planning and execution and be a key part of the operations team hence team work and excellent interpersonal skills are essential
  • You will be get opportunities to interact with extremely high networth individuals and senior executives from Corporate India and should enjoy teaching and sailing with diverse age groups and profiles

Location: India : Mumbai and Goa (transferable at management discretion)

Salary & Other Benefits: The season in India is from October to May (8 months) and the contract will be for a minimum of one season. The duration of contract is mutually extendable.

  • Compensation will be commensurate with the experience and the skill.
  • Accommodation, medical insurance, return airfare, reimbursement of visa processing fees etc. will be provided.

14. Function: Part time skippers

 

Location: Mumbai

Responsibilities/Key Responsibility Areas

  • We require skilled sailors who would be willing to devote time outside their regular working schedule. We could work out options that would suit your schedules, like weekend sailing and/or part time on weekdays. Commitments could vary from person to person. 
  • Sailors would require tocontribute as instructors for the Learn to Sail programme or as skippers for events like Splash, or even be a beach master.
  • All skippers will go through Aquasail on water training program conducted by Shakeel
  • Aquasail has been fortunate to work with great sailors who are currently well placed and handling successful and high powered roles in the corporate sector and in business. Even students have found time to be with us during our programs. All of them enjoy sailing with us and being a part of our vision of building the leisure boating industry.

Qualification and Experience

  • Dinghy and keel boat sailors – at least national level sailing and racing skills
  • Maturity in terms of safety requirements and interaction
  • Passion for sailing
